- Stretch the silk on a frame.
- Use the "magic purple pen" to plan out design (& trust that it will disappear!).
- Apply resist around edge, just inside frame.
- Apply resist to silk to create design. Let resist dry (a few minutes is OK; overnight is better).
- Apply "paint" with brushes (it's actually a dye made specifically for silk). Colors dry lighter than they appear.
Have fun blending colors, and creative problem solving when need be!!! Remember to breathe!
- Rinse brushes with warm water.
- Let artwork dry thoroughly.
- Steam set the silk so that the color remains permanent.
- Dryclean the silk so that the resist comes out and you are left with a sharp, clean line.
- Finish edges.
